A Tribute to America's Greatest Ally During WWII .....and Today!
Following the total defeat and capitulation of France in June 1940, England stood alone against the evil dictatorships of Nazi Germany, Facist Italy, and Imperial Japan. America had not entered the war, and all of continental Europe was under the domination of the Nazis. From 1940 to 1942, England single-handedly held back the incessant Nazi onslaught, keeping alive the hope of the world for Freedom and Democracy.
The Free World of today can never adequately repay the sacrifices, and the steadfast courage and determination of the English people to achieve Victory during those dark years. Their great leader, Winston Churchill, continually inspired his countrymen to fight on, despite the great odds against them. Their unrelenting efforts, especially during the victorious Battle of Britain, displayed most nobly what it truly meant to "be British," and magnificently proved "there'll always be an England."
As Winston Churchill so eloquently stated, "If the British Empire and its Commonwealths last for a thousand years, men will still say, THIS WAS THEIR FINEST HOUR!"
And specifically praising the fighter squadrons and the fighter pilots of the Royal Air Force following the Battle of Britain, he said, "Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed, by so many, to so few."
Thank You England!
